Mr. Boyd’s specialty is advising public companies, pre-IPO, and troubled companies. 20+ years of public company experience working on an extremely broad array of operational, strategic and governance challenges gives Mr. Boyd a unique and valuable perspective to share with others. His goal is to help others build high growth, high profit companies that benefit society as well as its shareholders.

Consulting Practice Overview

Mr. Boyd has run small cap public companies alongside the CEO for over 23 years in 6 different corporations. As such he has set up and managed individual companies being intimately involved with and impacting all functions. Mr. Boyd is experienced in financial, controls, governance, ESG, culture and oversight of public and international companies from start-up to mature organizations. The companies he has guided include market caps from $200M to $2.5B, employees from 70 to 700, revenues from pre-revenue to $400M annually.

At Marrone Bio Innovations, Inc. (MBII) Mr. Boyd worked with dedicated founder and CEO who was as committed as he was to the environment and good governance. Together, they built a company and culture that is the epitome of ESG principles. Concern about greenwashing has motivated Mr. Boyd to explore how to implement and measure meaningful ESG change and which is a central focus of his consulting practice.
